We thought you might like to see our “luxury” apartment in the Big Apple. Compared to normal units here this is quite large: Two full bedrooms and two full baths in about 850 sq ft. Fairly basic but quite comfortable. We have added a few “touches” like posters & qpictures for the white walls. We are beginning to feel like this is home. If you look at the picture taken from the roof top patio – we are down there three floors above the deck – you can see we look out into a “light well” with neighbouring buildings. Our neighbours are staring at us from about 60 feet away. We know how the residents on the lower floors of the Olympic Village feel. No clear airspace around us is different but the venetian blinds are starting to “loosen up”.

The first two shots below are looking up and down 7th Ave from our corner at 21st. The third is looking east on 21st toward 6th Ave. Very commercial on 21st. There are restaurants and bars of every description within a block or so. We have Whole Food’s 3 blocks up 7th and Trader Joes, Best Buy, Home Depot, and Bed Bath and Beyond just at quick walk to 6th Ave. And of course we have at least 4 Starbucks within a couple of blocks. Very handy.
